Covid-19: After break of 13 days, one more tests positive in Ladakh, toll reaches 14 Jahangeer Ganaie Ladakh, April 02 (KNO): After no case was tested positive for coronavirus in Ladakh union territory for about 13 days, one more person has been tested positive from Kargil district, officials said on Thursday. Three persons were tested positive for coronavirus on March 18 and since then no person was positive in Ladakh Union territory, officials added. The total number of positive cases in Ladakh Union territory has reached to 14 with three recoveries, they said adding that 3 positive cases were reported from Kargil district while as 11 were reported from Leh. "1 more positive case in Kargil a lot more is required to be done for #BreakingTheChain. Appeal to the Kargilis", Tweeted Baseer Choudhary, District Magistrate Kargil.. While talking to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Dr Choudhary said that at present there are three positive cases of Covid-19 in Kargil district and so far no positive case has been discharged in Kargil. Meanwhile Medical superintendent at SNM hospital Leh Dr T Samphel told –KNO that at present there are 8 positive covid-19 in Leh district and it is matter of joy that nobody has been tested positive for covid-19 from March 18 in Leh district. Three persons have recovered and were discharged few days before and today we have taken samples of present 8 patients again and sent for tests, he said. Their reports will come negative twice will be discharged, he said. Pertinently with over 2000 cases of covid-19 and around 50 deaths due to this deadly disease all over India, Ladakh union territory hasn't witnessed any death due to this deadly disease—(KNO)
